You are invited to a Town Hall Meeting sponsored by the Rochester Auburn Hills Community Coalition and the Rochester Community Schools PTA Council:
Underage Drinking: Not a Minor Problem Wednesday May 21st, 2008 7:00pm Rochester High School - Auditorium 180 S. Livernois, Rochester Hills, Michigan
Last fall, the RAHCC conducted a survey of middle school and high school parents throughout the four communities and two school districts of our Coalition on the important topic of underage drinking. The response to the survey was large and showed that while parents are actively involved, they need increased awareness on how easy it is for youth to access alcohol and support for their disapproval of underage drinking. Please join us for a presentation where we will provide the survey summary as well as strategies parents and community leaders are taking and can take to protect our youth from the harm of underage drinking.
You will also hear how the RAHCC is partnering with the Alliance of Coalitions for Healthy Communities across Oakland County to mobilize our community to reduce underage drinking. We have several initiatives in work to educate parents, youth, and the general public about the negative health effects of alcohol.
Our goal is that this information will help make our community a healthier, safer and better place to live, work and learn. There is no cost to participate in this event. Be informed and bring a friend! I
